Hi to all Savage friends.
I've now had my Moto Guzzi for almost a month, but the weather and my "other commitments" schedule have kept rides at a minimum. I was able to put in the better part of the day last Sunday on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Aside from the COLD!! and the patches of ice at the tunnel entrances it was a glorious ride! I'll admit I'm still a bit intimidated by the 200 more lbs of bike and it will be a while before I learn to throw it around like I could the Savage. I share Jabawaki's description of the heaver bike feeling like a tugboat, but the stability and sustainable higher cruising speed give a feeling of confidence on the interstate that the Savage didn't quite have.
Polar Pilot, you were soooo right in that the 'Guzzi is a cult bike!! It is so unfamiliar to most that my insurance company representative thought that I was making up the name!! I get a perverse enjoyment out of the relative obscurity of the bike; this just seems to catalyze the cohesion of the MGNOC. What a tight group!
I'll be at the Atlanta Motorcycle Show Feb. 17. I hope to see some of y'all there. But how will I know you? How will you know me?? I guess if I see someone hanging around the Suzuki display!!!!
